ISLAMABAD: Pakistan dropped further in the ICC World Test Championship standings after a defeat to Bangladesh in the opening match of their two-Test series, officials said on Wednesday.
Bangladesh moved above Pakistan in the table with 44.44 percent points and secured sixth place.
Pakistan fell to seventh position with 33.33 percent points.
Australia national cricket team remained on top of the standings with 87.50 percent points.
New Zealand national cricket team held second place with 77.78 percent.
South Africa national cricket team stood third with 75 percent points.
Sri Lanka national cricket team ranked fourth with 66.67 percent points.
India national cricket team occupied fifth position with 48.15 percent points.
Bangladesh registered their third consecutive Test win over Pakistan. They had previously won a 2-0 series in Rawalpindi in 2024.
Before this winning streak, Bangladesh had managed only one win in 13 Tests against Pakistan.
Pakistan last won a Test match away from home in 2023 against Sri Lanka in Colombo.
Since then, Pakistan have lost all six away Tests, marking their second-longest losing streak outside home conditions.
Their longest away losing streak remains seven consecutive defeats between 2018 and 2020.
