Balochistan Security ‘Extremely Serious,’ Must Be Treated as War: Rana Sana

Rana Sanaullah Demands Military Court Trial of Politicians Backing Faiz Hameed

ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, on Thursday asserted that India is engaged in a proxy war against Pakistan through Afghan soil, while also alleging that banned militant groups are receiving enhanced foreign financial and military backing.

Speaking on the Samaa TV programme ‘Red Line with Talat’, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader described the security situation in Balochistan as “extremely serious,” urging authorities to treat it as a full-fledged war rather than merely a law-and-order issue.

“Pakistan’s enemies have imposed this war on us,” Sanaullah stated, claiming that there was no doubt regarding the involvement of both India and Afghanistan in destabilizing the country. He specifically alleged that the perpetrators behind the recent Jaffar Express attack had direct links with Indian intelligence.

The adviser vowed that Pakistan would respond to the growing threat with all available means at its disposal. He revealed that decisions taken during a high-level meeting on Thursday would be implemented promptly to meet public expectations regarding security and law enforcement. He also emphasized that terrorism has placed immense strain on ordinary citizens and called on the entire nation to stand united against the common threat.

Sanaullah identified banned outfits such as the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Fitna al-Khawarij as actively working against the state. He dismissed any notion that these groups sought development or better governance, pointing out that they deliberately target critical infrastructure, including roads and bridges, to cripple daily life and economic activity.
