QUETTA: An information technology (IT) hub established under the Balochistan Skills Development Initiative has been inaugurated in Turbat by the Inspector General of the Frontier Corps (South) Balochistan.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by civil administration officials, community elders and representatives from different sectors.
The IT hub has been established to provide modern digital education and technical skills to young people in the province.
The facility aims to equip youth with technology-driven skills and prepare them to participate in Pakistan’s and the global digital economy.
The center includes a modern IT hall, a digital library, a conference room, a freelancers’ hub, a recreation area and staff facilities.
The IT hall has been equipped with 50 computer systems, a 75-inch smart display, high-speed internet, a local area network and a surveillance system.
The facility also offers indoor recreational activities, solar power backup and air conditioning to provide an uninterrupted learning environment.
Registration for the first batch of students has begun, while classes are scheduled to start in the first week of August.

Officials said the IT hub is expected to expand digital skills, promote self-employment and create new economic opportunities for young people in Balochistan.
