QUETTA: The Balochistan government has constituted a high-level committee to examine the long-standing revenue and administrative issues related to the Kachhi Mangi area, as per the official notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD).
The notification, dated July 10, 2026, states that the committee has been established with the prior approval of the Chief Minister of Balochistan.
The body has been tasked with reviewing revenue-related matters concerning the Kachhi Mangi area and submitting its recommendations to the provincial government for appropriate consideration.
In this regard, the committee will be chaired by the Minister for Board of Revenue. In addition, other members include the Commissioner Sibi, Deputy Commissioner Ziarat, Director General Mines, a representative of the Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR), and three representatives from the affected area.
The move follows concerns raised by local communities over the implementation of revenue settlements in the region. There are some reports indicate that residents have questioned the inclusion of certain areas in official revenue records and have called for a transparent review of the administrative process.
The committee has been entrusted with evaluating all relevant records, consulting stakeholders, and examining the legal and administrative aspects of the dispute before submitting its findings.
The provincial government expects the recommendations to help facilitate an informed decision on the matter.
Meanwhile, the local representatives have welcomed the formation of the committee, describing it as an opportunity to address long-standing grievances through institutional dialogue.
They have expressed hope that the review process will ensure fairness, transparency, and adherence to legal procedures.
The issue has remained a matter of public interest in parts of Balochistan, where local communities have sought greater clarity regarding revenue boundaries and administrative jurisdiction.
The inclusion of representatives from the affected area is being viewed as an effort to ensure that local perspectives are considered during the review process.
The formation of the committee is expected to contribute to a structured review of the dispute and assist the government in reaching a decision based on administrative records, legal considerations, and stakeholder consultations.
