RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar on Tuesday and reviewed the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military said in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the military media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal received a briefing on ongoing counter-terrorism operations, border management measures and the operational preparedness of formations deployed across the province during the visit.
The Chief of Army Staff, during the briefing, commended the morale, readiness and professionalism of officers and troops. He also acknowledged their continued efforts to protect the country and its people.
Meanwhile, CDF directed the formations to maintain vigilance and ensure the highest standards of operational preparedness.
He stressed that Pakistan’s armed forces, with the support of the nation, remained committed to defeating terrorism and promoting lasting peace and stability across the country.
Later, Asim Munir visited Yadgar-e-Shuhada, where he laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha in honour of soldiers who died defending the country and fighting terrorism.

He paid tribute to their sacrifices and said they would never be forgotten.
Upon arrival at Corps Headquarters Peshawar, Chief of Defence Forces was received by the Commander Peshawar Corps.
