Claims of AJK Police Destroying Essential Supplies Rejected

AJ&K Government Rejects Claims of Police Destroying Essential Supplies

Muzaffarabad: The Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) has officially refuted claims published in an international media report alleging that local police stopped civilians and forced the destruction of essential supplies, including food, medicines, and fuel.

A factual assessment of the report reveals that the central allegation relies entirely on a single, anonymous source under a pseudonym, without supporting video evidence, independent witnesses, or official records.

Contrarily, district and police authorities have confirmed that supply vehicles face no state-enforced disruptions and are being actively facilitated.

In a joint press conference held on June 23, 2026, the Chief Secretary of AJ&K and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) categorically dismissed the rumors.

Official records clarify that recent transport inconveniences were not caused by law enforcement, but by protestors associated with a proscribed Action Committee who attempted to intercept and loot supply trucks entering the region.

Law enforcement agencies successfully secured and recovered the commodities, ensuring that key transit routes remain fully open for all civilian and commercial traffic.

Official statements and subsequent verified press releases confirm that essential supply routes into AJ&K remain completely functional, disproving the unverified claims of state-led supply blockades or destruction.
