Two Afghan Drug Smugglers Killed by Tajik Forces

KABUL: Two Afghan drug smugglers were killed by Tajik security forces while attempting to cross the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border.

According to the Kyrgyz newspaper The Times of Central Asia, Tajik security officials reported that the Afghan smugglers were trying to cross the border when the incident occurred.

Tajik authorities stated that during the operation in the Farkhor district of Tajikistan, 25 kilograms of narcotics were seized from the slain smugglers.

The report highlights that Central Asian countries have already expressed serious concern over Afghanistan’s unstable military, political, and economic situation and its implications for the region.

Experts believe that the repeated infiltration of Afghan criminal elements into neighboring countries is clear evidence that the Taliban regime is complicit in these criminal activities.

It is worth noting that the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border stretches approximately 1,370 kilometers, much of which passes through difficult and mountainous terrain, making effective monitoring extremely challenging.
