LAHORE: The Punjab government has officially requested the federal authorities to implement a temporary mobile and internet services suspension in specific regions, including the districts of Attock and Rawalpindi, starting from September 27.
According to sources, the Punjab Home Department has written a formal letter to the federal government urging the shutdown and down-gradation of network signals in view of potential security concerns and law and order maintenance.
This administrative step coincides with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) announced long march toward Islamabad on September 27, prompting extensive security arrangements, the placement of containers on routes leading to the capital, and the imposition of Section 144 across Punjab.
