ISLAMABAD : Governor Jaffar Mandokhail has hailed the recently signed trilateral defense agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey as a historic turning point, asserting that “peace can only be protected through strength” and that united defense capabilities of brotherly Islamic nations render aggression futile.
In an official statement, the Governor emphasized that the Mecca Mutual Defense Agreement represents far more than a military pact – it is a promise of a shared future anchored in security, fraternity, and mutual trust.
“When the defense capabilities of three brotherly Islamic nations are united, no aggression can succeed,” he said, underscoring the deterrent power of collective security.
Mandokhail elaborated that the agreement would not only enable the three countries to confront emerging challenges but also foster a broader sense of security and stability across the entire region. He expressed optimism that smaller nations may eventually join this framework, noting that standing alone could weaken individual states, while a strong center always exerts a positive influence on its surroundings.
Highlighting the wider regional impact, the Governor remarked that harmony among major Muslim powers ensures peace across the region, strengthens trade markets, secures borders, and instills confidence among citizens. He voiced hope that if other brotherly nations join in the future, the pact could evolve into a broad alliance for cooperation, economic partnership, and collective security – particularly offering hope to smaller states that often feel vulnerable in an unpredictable geopolitical landscape.
Calling the accord a “diplomatic milestone,” Jaffar Mandokhail said it embodies the true spirit of fraternity and places peace, security, and stability at the very core of policy-making.
He also recalled Pakistan’s historic role in promoting regional peace and stability, stressing that after this agreement, Pakistan’s responsibilities have further increased. “Pakistan has always stood for peace, and now with this pact, our commitment to safeguarding regional harmony has deepened,” he added.
The Governor’s remarks come amid widespread celebrations across Pakistan, with landmarks illuminated and citizens expressing jubilation over what many view as a transformative moment for Islamic-world unity and collective defense.
