ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has stated that the extraordinary sacrifices of police officers and personnel are a source of pride for the entire nation.
In his message on the occasion of Police Martyrs Day, President Zardari paid tribute to the brave police officers and jawans who laid down their lives for the peace and security of the beloved homeland.
He remarked that their unmatched courage, unwavering commitment, and supreme sacrifices in national service will remain a source of pride and deeply respected by every Pakistani.
The President noted that the Pakistan Police serve on the front lines against crime, terrorism, and violent extremism, achieving remarkable success in dismantling criminal and extremist networks through targeted operations, high professional competence, and effective strategies.
He called it highly encouraging that police personnel remain resolute in safeguarding innocent lives, upholding the rule of law, and establishing law and order across the country while fulfilling their duties with exceptional sacrifices.
President Zardari expressed heartfelt appreciation for the extraordinary bravery and sacrifices of police officers and personnel serving particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, emphasizing that their effective and decisive role in operations against terrorists and their foreign patrons is nationally commendable.
He also saluted the patience, resilience, and fortitude of the families of the martyrs, stating that the entire nation views their sacrifices with the utmost honor and respect, and that the social and economic welfare of these esteemed families is a shared responsibility of all.
Reiterating the commitment to strengthen, modernize, and make police-related institutions more effective, the President stated that better training, the use of modern technology, and the provision of necessary resources will be ensured so that police personnel can perform their duties with confidence, dignity, and professional expertise.
He concluded by paying tribute to the brave sons and daughters of the Pakistan Police who continuously serve to protect the nation’s peace and security with high professional values and without regard for their own lives.
