RAWALPINDI: In a significant diplomatic engagement, a US congressional delegation comprising Representative Ryan Keith Zinke (Montana) and Representative Michael James (Washington) called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, according to an official statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Discussions during the high-level meeting centered on matters of mutual interest, regional security dynamics, bilateral defense cooperation, and strategic avenues for bolstering economic collaboration and shared prosperity.
Highlighting Pakistan’s vast economic potential during the talks, Field Marshal Asim Munir emphasized that sustainable regional stability is deeply anchored in robust economic growth, trade expansion, and enhanced regional connectivity.
He further underscored the government’s ongoing structural reforms designed to foster a business-friendly environment and actively attract foreign investment.
The visiting US dignitaries acknowledged Pakistan’s critical and constructive role in maintaining regional stability and building economic resilience.
Leveraging the professional backgrounds and insights of the delegation, both sides explored potential opportunities for bilateral economic engagement, private sector partnerships, and the strengthening of bilateral trade ties.
