ISLAMABAD: Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has strongly condemned the controversial and provocative statement made by his Indian counterpart, Rajnath Singh, completely rejecting India’s irresponsible remarks.
Reacting to the Indian Defence Minister’s statement, Khawaja Asif stated that such rhetoric reflects a continuous attempt to distort internationally recognized legal facts through political posturing and coercive behavior.
He emphasized that these statements neither alter the status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir nor contribute to regional peace, stability, or meaningful dialogue.
He further stated that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute whose final settlement is yet to be determined in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the freely expressed wishes of the Kashmiri people.
Khawaja Asif noted that India’s repeated attempts to defame Pakistan are entirely unreliable in light of India’s well-documented record of state-sponsored terrorism and criminal activities.
In fact, he added, India is the biggest patron of terrorism and the primary source of instability in South Asia, holding the entire region hostage due to its aggressive and expansionist ambitions.
The Defence Minister cautioned that such irresponsible rhetoric by India is deeply concerning as it further escalates the risk of inter-state conflicts in the region.
He maintained that while Pakistan remains committed to peace and dialogue, its resolve to defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security is absolute and unwavering, and should never be tested.
Concluding his remarks, Khawaja Asif asserted that the Indian Defence Minister‘s coercive posturing is merely a failed attempt to divert attention from India’s internal tensions, growing unrest, and public anger against Modi’s autocratic and divisive style of governance.
