MASTUNG: The security forces have intensified Operation Al-Azm in Balochistan, with officials stating that 15 terrorists were killed and 12 others injured during a coordinated operation in Mastung on July 23.
The operation was launched after intelligence agencies received credible information regarding the presence of militants at multiple hideouts in the area.
The operation involved coordinated air and ground actions aimed at dismantling terrorists infrastructure and disrupting terrorist activities.
They added that security personnel successfully targeted suspected hideouts, resulting in the reported casualties while continuing search and clearance operations in nearby areas.
The operation is aimed at eliminating militant groups referred to by the authorities as “Fitna Al-Hindustan” and “Fitna Al-Khawarij,” along with their alleged facilitators and support networks.
The military has maintained that the campaign is intelligence-driven and is being carried out with close coordination between various security and law enforcement agencies.
They said the hunt for remaining suspects is ongoing and that follow-up operations will continue wherever actionable intelligence is received.
Balochistan has witnessed a number of counterterrorism operations in recent months as security forces seek to curb militant violence and improve the overall security situation in the province.
