Bilawal Bhutto, Balochistan CM hold key meeting on security, politics and peace initiative

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday met Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti at Zardari House in Islamabad to discuss the province’s overall political, administrative, and law and order situation, with particular focus on recent security challenges and efforts to restore lasting peace.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Bugti briefed the PPP chairman on the current political and administrative affairs in Balochistan, as well as the government’s response to recent incidents of terrorism in the province.

He informed Bilawal Bhutto that the provincial government had taken comprehensive measures to support the families affected by the Ziarat tragedy and address their legitimate concerns.

As per the Chief Minister Bugti, the government has also established a judicial commission to investigate the Ziarat incident following the request of the victims’ families.

He said the commission would work to determine the facts surrounding the incident and ensure transparency in the investigation process.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti further stated that the Balochistan government plans to convene an All Parties Conference (APC) in the near future to strengthen political consensus and promote sustainable peace in the province.

He said invitations would be extended not only to parliamentary political parties but also to parties outside Parliament, enabling all stakeholders to contribute towards developing a unified strategy against terrorism and for long-term stability.

During the meeting, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari paid tribute to the personnel of the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), and police who lost their lives in the recent wave of terrorist attacks.

He expressed solidarity with the families of those who were martyred, saying he shared their grief and stood with them during this difficult time.

The PPP chairman also appreciated Chief Minister Bugti’s efforts to support the families affected by the Ziarat tragedy and acknowledged his role in facilitating dialogue aimed at resolving the situation peacefully.

Meanwhile, Bilawal further thanked opposition parties for their constructive role in making the negotiation process successful.

He confirmed that the Pakistan Peoples Party has consistently believed in engaging with all political forces, regardless of whether they are in government or opposition.

He pledged that the party would continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with state institutions and the people of Pakistan in the collective fight against terrorism and in efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability across the country.
