PESHAWAR: A glacier collapse struck seven people in Pakistan’s scenic Swat district on Saturday, leaving three injured while one person remained missing, rescue officials said.
The incident occurred in the Matiltan area of Kalam, a popular tourist destination in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Rescue teams rushed to the site after receiving reports of the collapse and launched an emergency operation.
Six people were pulled to safety, officials said. Three of the rescued sustained injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
A search operation was continuing to locate the missing person.
Authorities said rescue teams remained at the scene as efforts to trace the missing individual continued.
