ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to accelerate the deportation of undocumented Afghan nationals following the expiration of the July 10 deadline.
Under the new directives, any Afghan citizen residing in the country without a valid visa will face immediate arrest.
To ensure strict monitoring, a daily progress report will be dispatched to the Federal Ministry of Interior.
This report will compile the exact number of undocumented Afghan nationals detained, detailed actions taken by law enforcement, and the current legal status of the detainees.
Earlier on June 28, 2026, the Ministry of Interior had issued official letters to the chief secretaries of all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, to enforce these decisions.
The ministry’s directive instructed all Deputy Commissioners, police departments, and law enforcement agencies to execute the necessary operations immediately.
