KHAIRPUR: Six people, including a father and son, were killed and three others injured in an armed clash between two groups of the Narejo community in Kot Ghulam Muhammad, Piryalo area of Khairpur.
According to police, the deceased include four men and two women.
The confrontation reportedly stemmed from a family dispute and occurred within the jurisdiction of Faiz Muhammad Bhando Police Station.
Khairpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) said a heavy police contingent, supported by armored vehicles and an APC, was deployed to the scene immediately after the incident was reported.
The bodies and injured were shifted to Pir Jo Goth Hospital and GIMS Hospital for medical treatment and further procedures.
Police said the exchange of gunfire between the two groups was still ongoing, creating panic in the area. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
