QUETTA: A tragic explosion within the jurisdiction of the Kechi Beg Police Station at Killi Barao, near the Imdadia Madrassa Eidgah Ground, has claimed the lives of two innocent children and left another critically injured.
According to local authorities, a group of madrassa students were playing in the ground when the blast suddenly occurred.
The victims have been identified as:
- Muhammad Sufyan (10 years old), son of Maulvi Ahmad Ali – Martyred
- Khalil-ur-Rehman (11 years old), son of Abdul Rehman – Martyred
- Asadullah (7 years old), son of Niaz Muhammad – Critically Injured
The injured child was immediately rushed to the nearest medical facility for emergency treatment.
The incident took place at approximately 8:00 PM on Tuesday, following a targeted hand grenade attack by the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).
The attackers reportedly lobbed the explosive device toward the seminary area before fleeing the scene.
In the immediate aftermath of the assault, Counter-Terrorism (CT) teams and contingents of the Police arrived at the site to cordon off the area.
Security forces have activated all local intelligence networks (BICE/WICE) and are currently scanning the surveillance grid to track down the perpetrators. A massive search operation is underway in Quetta’s Saryab sector to apprehend those responsible for this horrific act of violence.
