DALBANDIN: Pakistani security forces killed seven India-sponsored militants during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Dalbandin area of Chagai district on Tuesday, security officials said.
Officials said security forces launched the operation in the Lagap area of Dalbandin, headquarters of the district, after receiving intelligence about the presence of suspected militants associated with the internationally designated terrorist group the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), also known as Fitna al Hindustan.
As troops raided the suspected hideout, the militants opened fire, triggering a gun battle, officials said.
Security forces returned fire and killed seven suspected militants during the exchange, according to the officials.
Eight other suspected militants were injured, they added.

The officials identified the militants as members of the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), which Pakistan designates as a terrorist organization. The military also refers to the group as “Fitna al Hindustan,” alleging it receives support from India, an allegation New Delhi denies.
Security forces continued search and clearance operations in the area, officials said.
