ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has strongly criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over a recently conferred award, alleging that the recognition lacked credibility and was created solely to promote the Indian leader.
In this regard, Khawaja Asif claimed that the award was established only days before it was presented and alleged that the accompanying certificates appeared to have been produced using a low-quality artificial intelligence model.
He further alleged that the documents contained noticeable spelling mistakes, raising questions about the authenticity and professionalism of the recognition.
Prime Minister Modi became the first and only recipient of the award, a development he described as highly unusual.
He argued that the recognition appeared to have been deliberately engineered and questioned its legitimacy.
Khawaja said the episode represented “either the worst kind of cheap popularity, or the most malicious gratification.” He further alleged that the incident was damaging India’s international image.
Asif also directed personal criticism at Prime Minister Modi, stating that the Indian leader was “putting the Indian nation to shame” and describing him as “a national embarrassment.”
These statements indicate the minister’s personal views and have not been independently verified.
