Funeral Preparations Begin for Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei

Major claim has emerged regarding Ayatollah Khamenei's funeral prayer

TEHRAN :  Preparations are underway across Iran for the funeral prayers of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, who was martyred in a US and Israeli attack on February 28, Iranian media reported.

 

According to state media, the body of the martyred Supreme Leader has been transferred to the Imam Khomeini Husseiniya in the southern region of Tehran, where funeral arrangements are being finalized. Thousands of mourners are expected to gather for the solemn ceremony.

 

The Iranian government has declared a public holiday across the country on July 6 to mark the funeral of Ayatollah Khamenei. Additionally, a day of national mourning will be observed on July 8, according to a government spokesperson.

 

Ayatollah Khamenei was martyred in the initial US-Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28. The attack also claimed the life of his daughter-in-law, who was the wife of the current Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Mujtaba Hosseini Khamenei.

 

The funeral is expected to draw massive crowds as the nation mourns the loss of its long-serving leader.
