A Surprise new No.1 that few expected, Where do major airports stand?

The new global ranking of airports has drawn widespread attention after revealing unexpected shifts in the performance of some of the world’s busiest aviation hubs.

The latest report by air travel services organization “AirHelp,” which evaluates passenger rights and airport performance, has placed Panama’s Tocumen International Airport at the top position worldwide.

In this regard, Tocumen International Airport, Panama City, Panama has been ranked the world’s best airport based on punctuality, overall passenger satisfaction, and terminal facilities.

The airport, located east of Panama City, is also known for offering travelers scenic views of the Panama Bay and surrounding greenery, adding a unique visual experience to transit journeys.

In the same ranking, Pinto Martins International Airport, Fortaleza, Brazil secured second place, while Cape Town International Airport, Cape Town, South Africa, last year’s top-ranked airport, moved to third position.

In the United States, Portland International Airport, Oregon, USA was identified as the highest-ranked airport, placing 18th globally. It was praised for its punctual flight operations and positive passenger feedback.

The airport recently introduced a newly designed terminal built with a distinctive modern wooden structure.

Meanwhile, Salt Lake City International Airport, Utah, USA ranked 28th, and Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas, USA secured 49th position.

In this sense, Hamad International Airport, Doha, Qatar dropped to 79th place, despite holding the second position in the previous year. The report attributed this fall mainly to reduced scores in punctuality and passenger service quality.

Separately, unusual reports from Dubai International Airport, Dubai, UAE recently made headlines after live reptiles, including lizards, snakes, scorpions, and frogs, were reportedly discovered in cargo inspections, raising concerns over wildlife transportation monitoring.

The ranking assessed data from passengers across more than 68 countries, considering punctuality records, cleanliness, staff behavior, waiting times, food quality, shopping facilities, seating comfort, and overall service experience.
