PPP Secures Key Political Support as IPP Announces Backing in Gilgit-Baltistan

GILGIT-BALTISTAN: The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) has announced its support for the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the formation of the new provincial government.

In this regard, the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari held a telephone conversation with IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan. During the discussion, the two leaders exchanged views on cooperation regarding key constitutional and political positions in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The development comes shortly after the newly elected members of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly took oath, paving the way for the formation of a new government in the region.

During the conversation, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari invited the IPP to join hands with the PPP in establishing a coalition government. Abdul Aleem Khan accepted the proposal and assured his party’s full support.

In this sense, Abdul Aleem Khan stated that the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party would stand alongside the Pakistan Peoples Party in Gilgit-Baltistan and support its candidates for important positions, including Chief Minister, Speaker, and other constitutional offices.

He further expressed confidence that PPP-backed candidates would secure a strong majority in the upcoming elections for these positions. The announcement is being viewed as an important step toward ensuring political stability and smooth governance in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Meanwhile, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has reportedly decided to nominate Amjad Advocate for the position of Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan. The support of the IPP is expected to strengthen the PPP’s position in the assembly and improve its chances of successfully forming the next government.
