PCB Names 15-Member Pakistan Squad for Asian Games 2026

LAHORE: A 15-member Pakistan men’s cricket squad for the 2026 Asian Games has been announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), with Sahibzada Farhan named captain.

The Asian Games will be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4.

According to the PCB, 10 teams will compete in the men’s T20 cricket event. Matches will be played at Kurogi Athletic Park in Aichi Prefecture. The cricket competition will begin on September 24, while the medal matches are scheduled for October 3.

The Pakistan side will be led by 30-year-old Sahibzada Farhan. A total of 1,305 runs have been scored by Farhan in 46 T20 Internationals for Pakistan. His record includes two centuries and 10 half-centuries.

Abdul Samad has been appointed vice-captain.

Four players in the squad — Aqif Javed, Ali Raza, Maaz Sadaqat and Saad Masood — are yet to make their T20 International debuts for Pakistan.

Fourteen of the 15 selected players will take part in the National Cricket Academy’s white-ball training camp. The camp is scheduled to begin in Lahore on June 15.

The squad includes Sahibzada Farhan (captain), Abdul Samad (vice-captain), Abrar Ahmed, Ahmed Daniyal, Aqif Javed, Ali Raza, Arafat Minhas, Haider Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Maaz Sadaqat, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Saad Masood, Saim Ayub, Sufiyan Muqeem and wicketkeeper Usman Khan.

The coaching staff will be headed by head coach Mike Hesson. The support staff includes bowling coach Ashley Noffke, fielding coach Shane McDermott, physiotherapist Mohammad Tahir, trainer Imran Ullah, and analyst and team operations coordinator Usman Hashmi.
