Khawaja Asif Slams Banned Action Committee’s Protest

ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has stated that crackdowns are underway against the individuals orchestrating the ongoing protests in Azad Kashmir.

Expressing gratitude to the people of Azad Kashmir, Asif alleged that the demonstrations are being backed by “Indian-sponsored” elements operating from within.

He asserted that the rhetoric being used during the protests is unacceptable for any patriotic Pakistani, regardless of whether they are Kashmiri, Punjabi, Baloch, or Pakhtun.

The Defence Minister added that he remains unconcerned by the personal criticism directed at him.

MeanwhileInformation Secretary Rashid Hanif noted that Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists have joined the committee, urging the public to ignore hostile propaganda from Indian and social media platforms.

In a significant briefing, the AJK Police Spokesperson revealed that between 100 and 150 members of the committee possess sniper rifles and advanced weaponry.

This gunfire has resulted in the martyrdom of one police officer and injuries to five others.

Authorities possess video evidence showing cash incentives offered for shooting at security personnel, shifting the nature of these gatherings from demonstrations to armed conflict.

The Azad Kashmir government suspended multiple senior police officials due to professional negligence during the events.

Officials stated that women and children are being positioned as human shields by disruptive actors within the crowds.
