QUETTA: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrived in Quetta following the deadly explosion near Chaman Phattak that claimed the lives of 14 people, including security personnel, women, and children.
The Interior Minister will visit the site of the blast and review the security situation in the area. In this regard, the senior officials of the Balochistan government and law enforcement agencies are expected to brief him on the tragic incident and the ongoing investigation.
The explosion occurred on Sunday morning near Chaman Phattak in Quetta, creating panic and fear among residents. In addition, the authorities confirmed that among the 14 martyrs were three personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC), while several women and children also lost their lives in the attack.
So far, the security forces and rescue teams immediately reached the scene and shifted the injured and deceased to nearby hospitals.
However, security measures across Quetta were further tightened, while law enforcement agencies launched a search operation in surrounding areas to trace those responsible for the attack.
Meanwhile, the Government of Balochistan strongly condemned the attack and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives. The aide to the Chief Minister of Balochistan termed the attack an act of “Fitna Al Hindustan” and vowed strict action against those involved.
