ZEHRI: The security forces carried out a successful intelligence-based operation in the Zehri area of Balochistan, neutralizing suspected militants and detaining four individuals allegedly linked to banned militant networks.
The security forces had laid ambushes for 48 hours at four different locations in the general area of Zehri under the command of the unit’s commanding officer.
The operation was part of ongoing efforts aimed at maintaining security and preventing militant movement in the region.
The security personnel observed a suspected vehicle moving along the Sohind–Pandran Road. The ambush party led by Major Saad engaged the suspected militants near the identified coordinates in the area.
In this regard, the security forces launched an area search operation in Peer Shahr village. The village was cordoned off while counterterrorism teams conducted sanitization and verification procedures to identify individuals allegedly connected with militant elements operating in the region.
So far, four suspects were apprehended on allegations of facilitating members of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). The security officials stated that the detained individuals were allegedly involved in providing logistical support.
The detained suspects included Ashraf, son of Ghulam Mustafa, who was allegedly involved in supplying commodities to militants near Kahn village. In addition, Lal Muhammad alias Babu, son of Muhammad Hussain, was accused of maintaining links with previously neutralized militants and allegedly providing information regarding security forces’ activities.
Two additional suspects, identified as Shahzaib, son of Muhammad Umar, and Niaz Ahmed, also son of Muhammad Umar, were reportedly taken into custody for their alleged role in supporting militant operations in the Zehri area.
However, the security sources stated that further investigations are underway to determine the extent of the suspects’ involvement and to identify additional facilitators operating in the area.
