TEHRAN: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian shared an image of a 4,500-year-old tree on social media, drawing widespread attention and sparking debate among online users regarding the possible message behind the post.
The Iranian president posted the image on the social media platform X, where he described the ancient “Sarv” tree as one of the oldest living organisms in Asia. The tree is approximately 4,500 years old and has existed since ancient times when the land was also known as Iran.
In this regard, President Pezeshkian mentioned the historical and cultural significance of Iran, emphasizing the country’s long-standing civilization and heritage.
Although he did not directly mention US President Donald Trump, social media users linked the post to recent remarks and past events involving the American leader.
The discussion gained momentum after users recalled a previous visit by Donald Trump to China during his presidency, where Chinese President Xi Jinping introduced him to a rare and highly protected imperial garden.
During the visit, President Xi showcased centuries-old trees, including some believed to be over 1,000 years old. Trump had praised the environment at the time and expressed admiration for the historic site.
So far, many social media users suggested that the image of the ancient Iranian tree may have been shared as a symbolic response to past statements attributed to Trump regarding Iran and its civilization.
However, no official clarification has been issued by the Iranian presidency regarding the interpretation of the post.
The image and accompanying message have since attracted significant engagement online, with users offering a range of opinions. Some viewed the post as a cultural and historical statement, while others interpreted it as a diplomatic message focusing on Iran’s ancient roots and enduring identity.
