Deadly internal clash reported within BLA as senior figure killed amid power struggle

The senior figure linked to the outfit Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) was killed escalating internal tensions between rival factions of the organization, according to local security sources and regional observers.

In this regard, the BLA cadre associated with the “Bahot” faction, was killed during a violent confrontation allegedly involving members loyal to the Bashir Zeb group.

The incident is being viewed as part of an intensifying struggle for influence and operational control within the militant organization.

The latest development follows the reported kidnapping of the Vice Chancellor of Gwadar University earlier in the day. The sources familiar with the matter alleged that the abduction was carried out by elements linked to the Baloch Republican Army (BRA), operating within or alongside the BLA network.

The action was reportedly undertaken at the direction of figures associated with the Bahot faction.

Balochistan suggest the kidnapping may have stemmed from a longstanding tribal dispute connected to the Vice Chancellor’s extended family and individuals linked to Hayat Khan.

The matter is therefore being described by some observers as having both personal and factional dimensions.

However, insiders claimed that the alleged abduction was not authorized by Bashir Zeb, a prominent commander associated with one of the major factions of the BLA.

The unauthorized operation is said to have further deepened divisions within the group and may have prompted retaliatory action intended to reassert authority and discipline among rival elements.

The BLA, which has been involved in a long-running insurgency in Balochistan, has witnessed factional disputes in the past, often driven by ideological differences, tribal loyalties, and disagreements over operational strategy.
