The Government to Reduce Electricity Prices

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Energy Owais Leghari says that we have buried IPPs for the future, we are going to make electricity so cheap that people will store it in batteries and use it at night.

In a video address to a power conference at a private university in Lahore, Owais Leghari said that we have buried IPPs for the future, the government has exited the IPPs business, we were going to install another 10,000 megawatts of IPPs, but they have been stopped.

The Federal Minister said that electricity rates will be different for industry and agriculture, and during the day, 6 to 7 rupees cheaper electricity will be provided for B3 and B4.
