WASHINGTON: According to a report by Axios, the United States and Iran are very close to reaching a “one-page” agreement aimed at ending the conflict.
The report claims that Iran is likely to agree to restrictions on nuclear weapons, while a framework will be prepared for detailed nuclear negotiations.
Under the proposed deal, the United States would ease sanctions on Iran, including provisions related to lifting restrictions around the Strait of Hormuz.
Talks are expected to take place in Islamabad or Geneva. The United States is anticipating a response from Iran on the proposals within 48 hours.
The agreement may also include the restoration of billions of dollars in Iranian funds that were previously frozen by the US.
