ISLAMABAD : Rana Sanaullah, Advisor to the Prime Minister, made a series of explosive political and policy statements during an appearance on Samaa TV’s program ‘Mere Sawal’, including claims that former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was removed precisely when he began “listening to us.”
Sanaullah also stated that PTI leader Sohail Afridi is currently “listening to us” and “listens to the right things.” He noted that some circles are now angry with Afridi and are seeking his removal. “If PTI wants to bring a new Chief Minister, then bring him,” Sanaullah added, without elaborating on who exactly “us” refers to.
On foreign policy, the PM’s advisor said Pakistan continues to play a positive and constructive role in the region. He claimed that the United States has carried out as much bombing of Iran as it intended and has now shifted to a maritime blockade. “Efforts are being made to open the Strait of Hormuz through Pakistan’s role,” he said, adding that the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and the Field Marshal are in daily contact with various stakeholders.
Sanaullah noted that the Prime Minister has taken the federal cabinet into confidence over these developments. “The world is suffering, and Pakistan is also bearing the brunt. We do not view this war as an opportunity for ourselves; Pakistan wants the war to end. We want whatever opportunities the Islamic world receives to be in the form of peace,” he said, adding that both Pakistan and Iran will benefit from such an outcome.
