LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced development projects worth Rs23 billion for the katcha areas of South Punjab.
During a meeting chaired by her, she also launched the “Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar” program to support local residents.
She directed that 14,500 acres of government land be allocated to people living in the katcha region and ordered transport services and mobile clinics for these areas.
Under the Katcha Area Development Program, schools, hospitals, roads, and bridges will be built. Mobile veterinary hospitals and labs will also be provided.
For the first time, solar-powered drone surveillance has been introduced in the region, while Safe City monitoring will be installed at police stations and check posts.
Additionally, Rs7.1 billion will be spent on law and order, Rs13.9 billion on social infrastructure, 6,551 female students will receive school milk packs, and 300 students will be awarded Honhaar scholarships along with 300 laptops.
