SORAB : Quick action by the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) Sorab Sub-Division staff led to the arrest of two individuals caught stealing conductors and other equipment from the 11kv Lakhorian feeder on the evening of April 27.
According to QESCO officials, the staff received information around 7 pm that two persons were involved in removing conductors and other gear from the feeder. A team was immediately dispatched to the location.
Upon arrival, the team found Munir Ahmad Ullah Bakhsh and Asif alias Ashiq actively stealing the conductors. Stolen wires and other equipment were recovered from their possession on the spot.
The QESCO staff subsequently handed both accused over to the police. A written application has been submitted at the Sorab Police Station requesting the registration of an FIR so that legal action can be taken against the thieves.
Authorities have urged local residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity near power infrastructure to help curb electricity theft and equipment vandalism.
