PESHAWAR: Traffic has been suspended on several major highways linking Peshawar with other parts of the country, according to a traffic advisory issued by the motorway police.
The closures took effect at 11 p.m. on Sept. 23 and affect the M-1, M-14, Hazara Motorway, GT Road and several other routes.
The M-1 Peshawar Motorway has been closed at Haroon Bridge.
The M-14 has been closed near the Turap Interchange at Kani Bridge on the CPEC route. Traffic has been stopped there by Mianwali police.
M-1, M-14 and GT Road Closed at Several Points
The E-35 Hazara Motorway has also been closed from the Burhan Interchange near the Hazara Interchange.
The N-5 GT Road has been closed at Attock Khurd.
Traffic has also been suspended on the Rawalpindi-Kohat Road at Khushalgarh and on the Abbottabad-Hassanabdal Road at the Jhari Kas check post.
Earlier, motorway police said the M-1 was closed in both directions from the Islamabad Toll Plaza to Chachh Interchange.
The M-14 was also closed between Hakla and Kundal, with traffic suspended at several interchanges.
The M-2 Lahore-Islamabad Motorway remains open to all traffic. However, large and cargo vehicles are barred from entering Islamabad.
Motorway police have advised motorists to avoid unnecessary travel.
They have also urged travellers to check traffic conditions before setting out and use alternative routes where roads remain closed.
