Balochistan Police Hold Open Courts; Officials Dismissed Over Misconduct

Balochistan police chief reviews Quetta red zone security

QUETTA :  Balochistan Police organised open courts at DIG and DPO levels across multiple ranges and districts, including Kalat, Naseerabad, Sibi, Makran, Loralai and Khuzdar, to address public grievances on the spot.

During a session chaired by DIG Khuzdar Range Wazir Khan Nasir, citizens raised concerns over stolen motorcycles from Sindh being sold in Khuzdar and open drug sales. The DIG ordered action, leading SSP Khuzdar to suspend two constables — Nasrullah and Hamidullah — for negligence, with departmental proceedings initiated.

In Loralai, DIG Junaid Ahmed Sheikh heard complaints and ordered an inquiry against four officials over allegations including misconduct, patronage of smugglers and drug dealers, and extortion. After the inquiry confirmed the charges, all four were dismissed from service.

IG Police Muhammad Tahir directed officers across the province to ensure timely action on every complaint, warning that delays will not be tolerated. He said open courts should continue regularly to strengthen public trust in police.
