Iran Refuses to Participate in Second Round of Talks with the US

TEHRAN: Iran has said it has no immediate plan for a new round of talks with the United States, its Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei said.

Baghaei said Tehran is not considering any progress on direct engagement with Washington under current conditions. He said Iran sees no diplomatic momentum at this stage.

He said the United States has shown it is not serious about advancing the diplomatic process. He also accused Washington of violating the ceasefire agreement.

Baghaei said Iran has informed mediator Pakistan about the developments.

He said differences between the two countries remain unresolved, making any immediate negotiations unlikely.

Political analysts say recent tensions, naval confrontations, and disputes over Iran’s nuclear program have further complicated diplomatic efforts. They say ongoing regional conflicts and a lack of trust have widened the gap between Tehran and Washington.

Experts warn that without a reduction in tensions, a revival of talks in the near future appears difficult. They also caution that regional stability could face further risks.
