Weather Department Forecasts Rain and Hailstorm

ISLAMABAD: Rain and hail were recorded in several parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Kashmir.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rainfall occurred in Swat, Karak, Malakand, Abbottabad, and Mansehra, while snowfall in the Galyat and Naran valleys caused a sharp drop in temperature.

In Neelum Valley, tourists who were trapped due to a landslide were successfully rescued.

Around 30 tourist vehicles had become stuck in Sheikh Bela area during heavy rain.

Rescue teams, police, and local administration shifted the tourists to a safe location during the night.

The Neelum Valley Road (Upper) remains blocked at several points due to landslides near Muzaffarabad.

Rainfall was also reported in the upper areas of Ziarat Valley, Toba Achakzai, and Toba Kakari in Balochistan.

The Karakoram Highway was closed due to a landslide near Lachi Nala in Kohistan.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast more rain in upper parts of the country today.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall across most parts of the country in the next 12 to 24 hours, along with possible snowfall in mountainous regions.

Snowfall is likely in the upper mountainous areas of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.

Authorities have warned of slippery roads and traffic disruptions due to rain, advising travelers — especially those on mountainous routes — to exercise extreme caution.
