QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress of development projects across the province, officials said on Tuesday.
Senior officials briefed the meeting on ongoing schemes and discussed measures to ensure their timely completion.
The meeting decided to introduce a digital monitoring system to track officials’ field presence. The system will use live location-based attendance to ensure officers remain on-site to supervise projects.
Bugti directed authorities to complete all ongoing development projects before June. He instructed district officers to stay in the field and ensure high-quality execution.
He warned that strict action would be taken against officials found absent from the field for more than 10 days.
The chief minister said the digital system would improve accountability and strengthen governance. He added that transparency and timely completion of projects remain top priorities.
Bugti stressed that field presence is essential for resolving public issues. He said authorities would take action without discrimination against officials responsible for negligence or delays.
He also underlined the need to ensure efficient use of public resources and said strong oversight and monitoring are critical for the province’s development.
