Balochistan Makes Tenant Registration Mandatory

Quetta: Balochistan’s Minister for Home Affairs, Babar Yousafzai, has announced that tenant registration has been made compulsory across the province to strengthen law and order.

He clarified that no one will be allowed to rent out accommodation without a valid National Identity Card (CNIC). Under the Balochistan Restriction of Rented Buildings (Security) Act, all property owners must check the CNIC of tenants and register them at the nearest police station.

Additionally, hosts must inform the local police in advance about any guest staying for more than 24 hours.

Babar Yousafzai stated that managers of hostels, hotels, and other rental properties will also be required to maintain complete records to help identify any suspicious activity immediately.

He warned that violation of these orders will result in strict legal action, including registration of cases, arrest of both the owner and tenant, and sealing of the property.

The Minister urged citizens to fulfill their responsibility by ensuring all tenants are properly registered and guests are promptly reported. This will help make homes, localities, and the entire province safer.
