BEIJING: Chinese President Xi Jinping has warned that the world risks reverting to a “law of the jungle” scenario, as global tensions continue to rise.
According to Chinese state media, Xi made the remarks during a meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who is currently on an official visit to China.
Referring to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Xi said the international community is facing a period of instability and uncertainty. He described the situation as a growing contest between adherence to international law and the use of force.
The Chinese president emphasized the need for stronger cooperation between countries, particularly with Spain, to prevent a breakdown of global order. He called for joint efforts to safeguard a rules-based international system and avoid a shift toward power-driven relations among nations.
Xi stressed that maintaining stability and cooperation is essential to ensure that global governance remains anchored in law rather than force.
