CTD Arrests 16 Terrorists in Several Punjab Areas

Lahore: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab has arrested 16 suspected terrorists, including a dangerous suicide bomber, during intelligence-based operations conducted in different cities of the province.

According to the CTD spokesperson, 113 Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs) were carried out across Punjab in cities including Khushab, Mianwali, Rawalpindi, Jhang, Bhakkar, Lahore, Faisalabad, Chakwal, Toba Tek Singh, Hafizabad, and Gujranwala.

A high-profile suicide bomber, Ghazi Marjan, affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij, was arrested from Jhang along with a suicide jacket and explosive material.

Another terrorist, Mulay Khan from Sargodha, involved in planning attacks on sensitive institutions, was also taken into custody.

The CTD said the arrested terrorists had finalized plans to attack police stations, which were foiled through timely action.

During the operations, a large quantity of explosive material, suicide jackets, 14 detonators, 25 feet of safety fuse wire, banned stickers, prohibited literature, and cash were recovered.

The arrested individuals include Ghazi Marjan, Moin Khan, Asil Deen, Naseer Shah, Naseeb Khan, Abrar, Yousaf, Male Khan, Usama, and others.

The CTD further informed that 2,830 combing operations were also conducted this week in which 95,755 people were questioned and 190 suspects were detained.

The department stated that operations against terrorism will continue across Punjab without any pause.
