PESHAWAR: Afghan Taliban forces opened unprovoked and indiscriminate fire on Pakistani border areas in Bajaur, Nawapas (Mohmand), and Dir on April 1, 2026.
Pakistani security forces responded immediately and effectively, silencing the Afghan gun positions and destroying the posts from where the firing was initiated.
According to security sources, there was no loss of life or injury on the Pakistani side.
The enemy’s every attempt was successfully neutralized through a strong and proportionate response.
Some Afghan media outlets and certain social media accounts are unnecessarily exaggerating the exchange of fire in the Nawapas and Bajaur sectors.
However, the ground situation remains fully under control with no major incident reported.
