KABUL: There was no drug rehabilitation center at the site as claimed by the Taliban.
The location was earlier temporarily used by the Taliban to round up drug addicts in Kabul after they took over power.
Over time, these addicts were reportedly sold off to various warlords and terrorist organizations, primarily to be used as suicide bombers.
The containerized structure currently being shown by the Taliban was actually housing troops of the Taliban regime or members of affiliated terrorist outfits.
However, it cannot be ruled out that a large number of them were drug addicts themselves, since addiction and homosexuality are quite common among the Taliban.
