KARACHI: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested a suspected militant linked to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in an operation in Malir, officials said.
The arrest came during a joint operation with sensitive security agencies aimed at thwarting a potential terror plot in the city.
During the raid, CTD officials recovered a hand grenade from the suspect, effectively foiling a possible attack.
Authorities said initial findings indicate the suspect may have links to a neighboring country, raising concerns about cross-border involvement.
The accused has been taken into custody, and a case has been registered under the Explosive Substances Act at a CTD police station in Karachi.
Officials confirmed that investigations are ongoing, with further disclosures about the suspect’s network and possible plans expected.
