Afghan Taliban hide their helicopters, fearing Pakistani attacks

KABUL: The several officials of the Afghan Taliban administration have reportedly relocated to the central Afghan province.

The sources in Ghor confirmed that a number of Taliban officials arrived in the province early Saturday morning, March 14, using four helicopters.

The movement took place amid growing fears of potential airstrikes by Pakistan targeting suspected militant locations inside Afghanistan.

This is not the first instance of such movements being reported. There are several Taliban officials had earlier traveled by helicopter to the neighboring central provinces of Bamyan Province and Daikundi Province under similar circumstances.

As of Saturday afternoon, there had been no official comment from Taliban spokespersons or Pakistani authorities regarding the reported movements of officials or the possibility of airstrikes.

So far, the local residents in Ghor reported unusual helicopter activity early in the morning, which they said was uncommon for the otherwise quiet province.

However, further details about the number of officials or the purpose of their relocation remain unclear.
