Gujranwala encounter: Four wanted criminals killed

GUJRANWALA : In a joint operation conducted by the Combined Communication Directorate (CCD) and police, four accused individuals wanted for the martyrdom of a police officer were killed in an alleged encounter late Friday night.

 

According to official sources, the deceased have been identified as Ehtesham, Omar, Owais, and Abdul Qayyum. The CCD reported that among the dead are two brothers and their father. The four men were declared wanted in multiple cases, including murder, armed robbery, and drug trafficking.

 

Authorities stated that the accused had been on the run for an extended period and were considered high-value targets. The operation was launched following a intelligence tip-off regarding their whereabouts.

 

Officials further revealed that the same gang was responsible for a recent attack on a police team. A few days ago, when a raid was conducted to apprehend the suspects, they opened fire, resulting in the martyrdom of Officer Ikram and injuries to another policeman. The encounter that led to their death marks the conclusion of a manhunt for the perpetrators of that a

ttack.
