IOK: In a stunning se, former Chief Minister of India Occupied Kashmir IOK, Farooq Abdullah, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt late Wednesday evening after an armed man opened fire on him at point-blank range. The incident occurred as the National Conference president was returning from a wedding ceremony in Indian Occupied Kashmir IOK.
According to officials, the attack took place in the Royal Park area of IOK, the venue for the ceremony. As Mr. Abdullah was leaving the location, an assailant managed to get close to him and fired a shot. According to Indian state control media, the quick action by police and security personnel, who were part of his security detail, prevented a major tragedy. The attacker was immediately overpowered and taken into custody at the scene.
Fortunately, the single bullet fired did not hit anyone. Former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah and the Deputy Chief Minister of Indian Occupied Kashmir, who was accompanying him at the time, remained safe and unharmed in the incident.
Security has been heightened in the area, and senior police officials have reached the spot to assess the situation. A high-level investigation has been launched to determine the identity of the attacker, how he managed to breach security, and whether he was part of a larger conspiracy.
