PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s government has imposed a temporary ban on all official meetings and workshops for education officers and staff outside their respective districts.
The decision is part of a series of administrative and financial measures aimed at improving efficiency and reducing unnecessary government expenditures.
The move is intended to minimize travel-related expenses and ensure that officials remain focused on their responsibilities within their assigned districts.
The department has introduced strict restrictions on the use of government vehicles. The use of official vehicles for personal purposes has been completely prohibited.
The notification further states that officers working in the provincial secretariat will not be allowed to undertake official visits without prior approval from the competent authority.
The directive aims to regulate official travel and ensure that only essential visits are carried out.
Furthermore, heads of educational boards and other autonomous institutions have been instructed to reduce their expenditure on petrol, oil, and lubricants (POL) by 50 percent.
The teachers and employees will also be restricted from submitting applications and complaints through physical visits to offices.
These directives will remain in effect during March and April 2026. The provincial government has expressed hope that the measures will enhance operational efficiency, promote transparency, and help manage public resources more responsibly within the education sector.
Meanwhile, the Government of Sindh has also announced a public holiday on the occasion of Jumat-ul-Wida, according to an official statement issued by the provincial authorities.
