Karachi: The Sindh government has decided to keep schools closed until March 31.
In view of the rising fuel prices following the war situation in the Middle East, educational institutions are now being closed in Sindh as well, after Punjab.
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon stated that the Sindh government has decided to keep educational institutions closed from March 16 to March 31.
However, despite the schools being closed, examinations will be held on schedule, while colleges and universities will continue classes online.
On the other hand, the spokesperson for the Chief Minister of Sindh announced that the cabinet has approved the Student Attendance Monitoring and Redress System policy, along with a digital surveillance system for schools.
According to the spokesperson, student attendance and enrollment records will be maintained through a mobile app and digital dashboard.
The new system will help reduce student absenteeism and dropout rates.
The spokesperson further stated that the cabinet was briefed that the digital monitoring system will be implemented in all schools across Sindh within one year.
